| Working Principle |
1. Oil Inlet: When the engine runs, pressurized oil (from the oil pump) enters the filter through inlet ports in the metal housing. |
| 2. Filtration: Oil flows through the cellulose-synthetic media, which traps contaminants (metal shavings, dust, sludge) while allowing clean oil to pass through. |
| 3. Clean Oil Outlet: Filtered oil exits the filter through the center tube and flows to the engine’s crankshaft, bearings, camshaft, and other moving parts – lubricating and cooling them. |
| 4. Clog Protection: If the media clogs (pressure drop exceeds 150–200 kPa), the pressure relief valve opens, directing unfiltered oil to the engine (temporary safeguard to prevent oil starvation). |
| 5. Dry Start Prevention: When the engine stops, the anti-drainback valve closes, keeping oil in the filter. This ensures oil is immediately available to engine parts on the next startup. |
